I’m so glad you dropped by. Let me tell you a little about myself and Absorbing Grace!
Absorbing Grace is about life with my little family – hunting up joy, peace, & diaper coupons.
My husband and I got married in September 2016 and got pregnant with our son, Eli, within just a few weeks. Since then, I’ve enjoyed a quick crash course in marriage, homemaking, pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood! Here at Absorbing Grace, I share what I have learned in this whirlwind, along with the immense grace that has permeated all of these experiences.
I look for inspiration in art, in nature, and in people. I love sleep (probably more than I should). Stories formed the way I see the world – Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, and quirky thoughts on faith from Anne Lamott. Trying new recipes and painting with watercolors refresh my spirit to no end. My greatest dream in life was to be a wife and mother, and I am so grateful that I am now living that dream. Coffee runs in my blood. I tend towards classic music like Sinatra and Bing Crosby, indie folk/folk rock, and a few new artists and soundtracks thrown in for good measure (Twenty One Pilots and La La Land, anyone?).
I am passionate about exchanging information and experiences with my fellow mamas to help us learn from each other and make wise, informed decisions for ourselves and our families. I invite you to grow with me as I cultivate my life as a wife and mom!
We live a quiet life on a small income, so I keep a sharp eye out for ways to save money and make the most of what we have. Read about how I Save Money!
I actually (mostly) enjoyed my pregnancy and birth and have a lot of tips for savoring (and occasionally, simply enduring) different stages of pregnancy. Get informed with my Pregnancy & Birth posts!
Motherhood is such a transformative experience in the life of a woman. Wonder and laugh with me at my adventures!
Faith is the cornerstone of my life. The Lord has carried me through so much and I am learning to lean on his grace more and more each day. Muse about faith and belief.
I struggle with depression and anxiety. I believe it’s time to end the stigma around mental health, so I write about it! Read my stories here and know you are not alone.
A focus on accepting and embracing God’s grace in my life has helped me to find joy.
I believe the most valuable thing in the world is joy, and the key to joy is grace.
Grace for myself, grace for those I love.
Grace that is given without limit from God, which I don’t even have to ask for.
Grace that heals, centers, and guides.
Grace that I only must acknowledge to enjoy it.
This is my core mission as I write: to remind you of the goodness of life and the abundance of grace that surrounds you in every feature of life.
